The signage here https://goo.gl/maps/fkk1xCkbYqED9x5g9 does not comply with the traffic signs manual. Also the bus lane is interrupted by a pedestrian crossing, and it has been held that a bus lane cannot run through a pedestrian crossing as the two statutory regimes are incompatible with each other, see Neville Stanley v London Borough of Lambeth (2170474513, 01 June 2017).

I will find out the make and model of the camera, it might not have an approval certificate.

In the meantime would you be able to go back to the location and get us some updates photos of the signage?

I practice law in the Traffic Penalty Tribunal, London Tribunals, the First-tier tribunal for Scotland, and the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for Northern Ireland, but I am not a solicitor or a barrister. Notwithstanding this, I voluntarily apply the cab rank rule. I am a member of the Society of Professional McKenzie Friends, my membership number is FM193 and I abide by the SPMF service standards.

It's just an informal representation so something very basic will do:

Dear Royal Borough of Greenwich,

The alleged contravention did not occur due to inadequate signage. It follows that the penalty charge must be cancelled.

Yours faithfully,

Hopefully by the time you have to make formal representations, we'll have confirmation of the camera's status.

Looks like you were in the bus lane at 9.33pm. The bus lane runs from 7am until 7pm (see: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4360805). I'm in a similar dispute myself with them, but going the other way

Well spotted, the signs on GSV would appear to be out of date. I've request the experimental traffic order so we can know for sure what the situation is.

In the meantime it would be helpful if someone could get a photo of the sign.

Interesting FOI response.

How can they prove the camera is approved, if they don't know the make and model of the camera?
