CCJ from DCBL

After some advice please. I have recently moved house so missed all the letters regarding Claim form and judgement letter regarding a parking fine for private car park.

This has now gone to a CCJ. Most recent letter says CCJ can be removed if paid within 1 month of judgment letter however I have now missed this by a couple of weeks.

Where do I stand with this? Who am I best to contact and is there any chance I will be able to get the CCJ removed?

You can get the record of the CCJ marked as “satisfied” but it will stay for six years.

You can get it removed if you apply for the judgment to be set aside, but that will likely cost you >£300 and will only be granted if the court thinks you have a reasonable chance of defending your case. There have been cases which you can find if you search the forum in which the claimant was viewed as not having properly checked the defendant’s address and relied only on the original DVLA information supplied at the time of the original notice. But you’d have to pay >£300, get the court to agree to a set aside, then win the subsequent case and claim back the set aside fee from the claimant.



Remember, we are not legal professionals and this is not an issue directly to do with parking notices, it’s just the end result of something that started with one.

Also, DCBL are debt collectors and have no power.
DCB Legal are solicitors and may have initiated a county court claim.
But neither of these issued a "CCJ". The court did this.
